How do we help children and families?

At Holy Family Primary School pastoral support is a high priority and we aim to promote the wellbeing and self-esteem of each child. We want to inspire our children to see learning as a joy, a gateway to a successful future.

The Pastoral Support Team consists of our Learning Mentor, Miss Deegan and our Pupil Welfare Officer, Mr Gareth Moyle, who are supported by our Head Teacher, Mrs Allonby and our SENDCo, Mrs Whitehead.

Our pastoral team help pupils make the most of school life by breaking down barriers to learning. For the child, they are someone supportive to talk to, share successes or disappointments with, or to provide help with difficulties or worries.

For families: they can also be the link between school and home, or with outside agencies. They deliver a tailored and flexible approach to meet the needs of those being mentored.  We call this Early Help.

Our pastoral team meet with children and young people, usually in our Rainbow room, either individually or in small groups in a planned and structured way.
